What are the challenges of being faithful to one partner? Tell us about the instance(s )when you have been tempted to get another sexual partner. What ultimately helped you to remain committed to being faithful to your one love, despite the challenges?

One of the challenges of being faithful is that your partner may not be faithful. I was married to someone who was repeatedly unfaithful and at one point I was tempted to find someone else for myself too. Fear of pregnancy, STDs including HIV, fear of his response if he had found out and fear of social stigma if I should be found out by my friends and family stopped me. My spiritual beliefs are that fidelity is important to maintaining a monagamous relationship and deep down I feel it’s wrong to sleep with more than one person at a time. Even if he was being unfaithful, I didn’t feel I had the right to be unfaithful too.
