Many couples give each other gifts on Valentine’s Day. The gifts are usually flowers, chocolate, dinner out at a restaurant or a gift marketers call romantic. But are these the gifts that really show your partner that you love him? Or are there other gifts that you could give him that would mean more to him/her?
Here are some gift ideas for your man this Valentine’s Day:
1. Spend some quality time with your partner
Wake him up an hour earlier for some bed time fun. You can also spend some unhurried time together drinking coffee or just chatting. This may put him in a good mood before he has to face the day.
2. Prepare his favourite meal
Serve it as part of a special occassion, using your best crockery, even if the meal is not fancy. Wear his favourite dress and perfume, and if possible, send the kids away to visit their grandmother or aunt for the night.
3. Tell him that you love him
Sometimes simply sharing your feelings with your loved one is forgotten when we deal with the demands day-to-day life. Remind your partner that you still love him, that the old feeling you used to have for each other is still there. Forget the day’s stresses for the moment and remind him why you committed to each other in the first place. ShowΓö¼├í him that he is a prince among men, even if it is only in your eyes.
4. Buy him the item he previously said he wants
Forget the marketers’ notion of what is romantic. Buy your partner the item that he has previously said he wants, but did not buy. It may be a techno-gadget, a fishing rod, football memorabilia, a subscription to a sports magazine or nice briefcase or even a pair of shoes you saw him admire but did not buy. If he is a reader, buy him the latest book by his favourite author.
5. Replace that awful T-shirt he loves
Many of us have a piece of clothing that is old, torn, but that we loveand still try to wear. This can be a T-shirt he won in a marathan back in the days when he was still young and energetic, or it could be a pair of socks his Aunt Matilda bought for him. You’ve tried to get him to burn the thing, in vain. So why don’t you buy him a copy of the T-shirt if you can? Don’t throw away the old one; put it away in your kist where you store things that you will never throw away.
Here are some gift ideas for your woman this Valentine’s Day:
6. Flowers and chocolate still works
The previous statements about flowers and chocolate notwithstanding, there is a reason marketers successfully push flowers, candy and dinner at fancy restaurants on Valentine’s Day, and that is because it works. So go on, send her flowers at work if you want. It will definitely make her look good to her friends and colleagues at work, and win you some favour in her eyes.
7. Do her household chores, so she has time to pamper herself
Whether she works outside the home orΓö¼├í not, every woman would love to have a block of time where she does not have to cook supper, wash the dinner dishes or worry about whether the kids’ school uniform is clean for the following day.
8.  Buy her body creams and oils
You’ll have a lot of fun massaging her with them!
9.   Ask her what she needs from you and then listen to her answer
Your partner may too shy to talk to you about what pleases her sexually. Or maybe she does not talk about it because your culture and previous relationship says a woman who respects her man does not discuss sex. Tell her you want to know what she really wants and if she is too shy to say in words, ask her to show you when you do something that she likes.
10. Use a condom
If you have more than one sexual partner, the greatest gift you can give your partners is protection from HIV. Offer to use a condom, and then suggest to each of them that you test for HIV.
