Should I Use A Condom During Sex, Even If I Trust My Partner?

Many of you who took the poll voted YES when asked whether you should use a condom even if you trust your partner.  76% of respondents said you need to use a condom, while 24% said it depends on the circumstances.

None of the respondents said that a couple that trust each other do not need to use a condom during sex.

If you have not taken the poll yet, take it now, so your voice is also heard on this issue.

Talk about it

Please explain your vote. Why do you believe that couples who trust each other should still use a condom? Or what circumstances would make a condom necessary even if the couple trust each other?

people in love seldom talk about their previous relationships for fear of being labled promiscous.love is the only solid bedrock on which their trust rests. therefore, it is necessary to use protection when you make love to prevent the unexpected and the unthinkable because mere physical appearance does not always determine one’s HIV/Aids status.

trusting one another does not mean the couples will stop cheating. people might trust, but personal safey should come before trust.

eddie, the only way to tell if you have contracted HIV is to go for an HIV test. there is a possibility that you were infected. that’s just the reality of it-no condoms means HIV coulda got you. get a test ……..and brother please-next time stick to the rubbers!

let’s be real here people. if all these good answers we keep giving to the polls-we wouldn’t have such high rates of HIV now would we?

clearly we’re telling what we think is okay. there’s no truth being expressed here!

@jacqui – I don’t think the readers of this site are a fair reflection of the population and its views/actions. Annd yes, sometimes I do have a sneaking suspicion that we’re preaching to the choir? Because people who visit a web site such as this one are already concerned about HIV one way or another. And the ones who are engaging in risky behaviour, which would account for the high infection rates, may not necessarily be reading this site until HIV becomes an issue either directly or indirectly for them. That is why a huge part of what we’d like to see happen is for our readers to also pass the message to their own friends/relatives/networks. Use this as a resource to do so, and reach those people we haven’t had the opportunity to reach yet.

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!

@Pradep -Yep. Always use a condoms when you have sex. Not just when you are having with call girls but when you are having sex with anyone, even the nice lady next door.

You use condoms unless you went and tested for HIV and Sexually transmitted infections with them, and you’re 200% certain they tested HIV negative. And then you still need to be certain that you trust this partner not to cheat on you after you’ve both tested negative.

Its wrong for married couples to use condom, it shows lack of maturity and trust, which are the basis of marriage…if condom’s used for family planning then i agree with it.
