Namibia has embarked on a media campaign to break the chain of HIV transmissions driven by the practice of having more than one sexual partner. Multiple and concurrent partnerships (MCP) has been identified as one of the key drivers of the epidemic, reports New Era.
The other drivers of the epidemic are inconsistent condom use, low male circumcision coverage, alcohol abuse, mobility and migration and low HIV risk perceptions.
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology on Friday launched the Break the Chain campaign under its Take Control National HIV/AIDS media campaign, which started in 1999. The campaign will specifically address the risks of sexual networks and multiple and concurrent partnerships.
Desert Soul, the Namibia partner of the OneLove campaign, is also a partner in the “Break The Chain” campaign. The OneLove campaign in Namibia will launch in the first half of 2010, with a TV series and booklet launched at the end of the first quarter.

I am a HIV community mobilizer in mariental in the Hardap region. the break the chain campaign is a good campaign for some of the community members is it an eye opener about having more than one sexual partner.
I am planning to have men awarness activity about multiple concurrent partnership, to educate our men on the risk of having more than one sexual partner, but I needs some help with some ideas how to motivate the men to take part in this activity.
Please help!
