The Desert Soul Health and Development Communication, the OneLove partner in Namibia, has launched a booklet titled “Life and Love with One Partner,” reports New Era.
The booklet highlight the HIV risk of having more than one sexual partner and explore the intricate questions of gender, culture and migration in relation to the risk of contracting HIV, and provide a series of options to reduce the risks involved to the target audiences.
The booklet, which was written and designed by Bryony van der Merwe of Otjiwarongo, is translated into Afrikaans and Oshiwambo and is freely available at clinics, hospitals, BP service stations, Namibia Red Cross offices, New Start centres and youth centres countrywide.
Finelda Khuruses of Desert Soul told Art Life that the booklet deals with a wide variety of topics, including:
- What is a loving relationship?
- Sex in a loving relationship
- Staying protected from HIV
- Communication between partners
- How culture can affect a loving relationship
- What one can do about HIV
