A couple of people have emailed us to ask about the photo that we used on the home page of the web site. Who are they, and how do they fit into the OneLove campaign, someone asked.
Well, the man is Iddi Ligongo, a very well-known TV personality in Tanzania, and the woman’s name is Rebecca Gyumi, a fresh face on the Tanzanian TV scene.
Both are presenters of the Fema TV Talk Show, a 30-minute weekly talk show for and by young people in Tanzania.
The previous season of the show was broadcast from July 2008 to January 2009. Negotiations are in progress to develop the next season of the show.
Meet Iddi
As an actor and member of the Kaole Sanaa Group from 1998 to 2001, Iddi appeared in several television dramas, including Hujafa Hujaumbika and Fukuto.
In 2001, he joined ITV, where he was a news presenter until 2006, when he joined the Fema Talk Show. Iddi plays a very important role in the Fema TV Talk Show. He is vibrant and down-to earth. He has also developed a wholesome, sensible image, making him a great role model for Tanzanian youth.
Meet Rebecca Gyumi
Rebecca joined the Fema TV Talk Show in the last season, which began at the end of 2008.
She is a fresh face onscreen. But she is not stranger Femina HIP family and its messages. Rebecca was a Fema magazine club member for two years during secondary school. She joined the Femina HIP team this year.
As a recent secondary-school graduate, Rebecca brings a young and exciting energy to the studio. Her student experiences allow her to relate to the student community and strengthen the connection between the talk show and the young people it serves.
Are you a fan of Iddi and Rebecca?
Do you have pressing questions you always wanted to ask them?
Leave a message at the end of this post, asking your questions. We will gather all teh questions, and forward them to Femina HIP to get answers and then write a Q and A article from their answers.
