Femina HIP, the OneLove partner in Tanzania, has begun broadcasting Love Stories in a time of HIV & AIDS, a series of ten 30-minute educational dramas about the intimacies of respecting and protecting loved ones in a time of HIV and AIDS.
The first film, a Tanzanian production called Chaguo, is a story of a young couple whose world has been shaken by conflict, mistrust and risky sex. They are struggling to communicate, confess the truth and make tough choices about their relationship
Diana Nyakyi, the Fema Regional Communications Officer said so far from what they had seen and the response from viewers regarding Chaguo has been generally positive – with some requests from individuals on how to get a copy of the film since February 13 this year when it premiered.

Diana Nyaki from Femina HIP has kindly translated the comment/query from Hamis: “In summary, he’s saying he was with a girl a few years ago, and he caught her with another man. But he still fought to be with her and even sent friends to talk to her when she wouldn’t talk to him and reconcile. And when she got pregnant (by the other man it seems??? not clear), he still helped her out with that. But he never trusted her. Two years later she has come to him to tell him she wants to be with him. He couldn’t answer for fear that she’ll do him wrong again. He’s wondering whether he should or shouldn’t take her back.”
Diana will respond below in Swahili.
