Today Soul City is hosting the South African leg of the launch of “Love – Stories in time of HIV & AIDS,” a series of 10 short films for television from 10 countries in Southern Africa.

The launch is taking place at 19h00 at the Hyde Park Nu Metro Cinema in Johannesburg.

The series will broadcast on Wednesdays from 24 March 2010 on SABC1 at 20h30.

Umshato – The Wedding

Nomandla and Makhosi at a lake

Set in a village in the Eastern Cape, Umshato – The Wedding is the story of Nomandla, a woman who is in the final stages of her traditional Xhosa wedding to Makhosi.

Nomandla has loved Makhosi for many years. On her special day, she discovers a terrible truth which her mother is determined to hide.

But Nomandla wants something different for her life. But what can she do now, on her wedding day?

The film broadcasts on the 24 March at 20h30 on SABC 1.
