The message on this poster makes a play on the Sesotho proverb which says “men are like pumpkins, they spread themselves all over the place, and women are like cabbages, they hold themselves in one place.”

The proverb encourages men to have more than one sexual partner, while women are expected to remain faithful to their partners. However, the poster cautions people against having multiple concurrent partners.

It says: “Don’t be like a pumpkin.”

The OneLove campaign was launched in Lesotho exactly one year today (15  January 2009.) To learn more about the OneLove campaign in Lesotho, read  check out the Lesotho pages on this web site in the section called “Country Campaigns” on this web site.
