For many people marriage is a way for two people to tell the world, and one another, that they want to spend the rest of their lives together.
Marriage lets you celebrate the fact that you and your partner found each other. It is also something that lets you create a family, not just for children, but with one another.

Lerato’s story, first published in the book “Men, Women & HIV and AIDS,” highlights one of the reasons why girls in Southern Africa are more vulnerable to HIV infection. Lerato is being sexually abused, and the sexual relationship is concurrent, as her abuser is also married.
