Community Launch of OneLove Campaign in South Africa

Talk about it

What’s culture got to do with love and relationships in the time of HIV and AIDS? Please share your views on the following:

  • What can traditional leaders do to prevent the spread of HIV in Southern Africa, while at the same time helping their people preserve their culture and traditions?
  • Are we holding onto the practice of polygamy and other cultural practices that no longer serve our people because we are afraid of change?
  • Do you agree with Kgosi Thobejane, who says that we must try to achieve balance and not destroy polygamy? What does balance mean, in your view?
  • Do you agree with him when he says that women must share the pool of available men, because there are more men than women in this country?
