I’m going to find out from Soul City if they can give me a PDF book on HIV and Pregnancy or something, and upload it here so you can access the resource. But the quick answer is, if you’re already pregnant, you need counselling so you find out what the risks to you and the baby are ( for e.g. baby needs ARVs during birth and afterwards to prevent HIV infection).
If you’re not pregnant yet but want a baby, you still need to get counselling to find out if having a baby is a good choice for you and your family, what being pregnant will mean to you. Keep in mind that unprotected sex leads to the transmission of HIV, and two HIV positive people can re-infect each other.So there are risks to your partner too, and the risks to the baby you’re dreaming about.
And because of the many variables, and potential impact on you and your loved ones, you’d need to speak to your doctor or local health care professional.
The reason I’m not giving you an answer that’s firmer than that is because a woman needs counselling to make such a decision, and she needs to understand the risks, and to access certain resources.
