Action Institute for Environment, Health and Development Communication, the OneLove Regional Campaign partner in Zimbabwe, has scored a first to win the first prize under all voluntary organisations which exhibited in the Harare Agricultural Show held from 24-29 August 2009.
Action IEHDC received a Rothmans Floating Trophy for the Best Voluntary Services Display during the official opening of the Harare Agricultural Show on Friday 29 August 2009.
Until recently Action was a project under a non-governmental organisation called Zimbabwe Trust, but has since broken away to become a stand alone organisation under the name “Action IEHDC”.
Action was established in 1987 as a result of the apparent need for information materials for children in the areas of health, development and environment issues.
In view if the growing complexity of HIV and AIDS pandemic, Action IEHDC through its partnership with Soul City, Institute for Health and Development Communication, a South African based-NGO, is working on a multi-media campaign, which includes social mobilisation and advocacy activities to promote positive behaviour change in matters to do with health and social development.

The OneLove Campaign is focusing on the reduction of Multiple and Concurrent Sexual Partnerships (MCPs) which have been identified as a key driver of HIV infection in Southern Africa. The overall goal of the campaign is to decrease new HIV infections.
Action IEHDC, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare and the NAC launched the OneLove Campaign in Zimbabwe in June 2009.
Action also displayed both “Action Pals” and “Action for Life” materials during the Harare Agriculture Show. Hundreds of people both children and adults visited the Action IEHDC show stand, whose attractions were mainly the latest “Action Pals 3 Tomorrow is Ours” booklet and OneLove materials.
