President Jacob Zuma defended his polygamy before a crowd of business and political elite and called for acceptance of Zulu culture, reports the Indepndent Online. Zuma, 67, married earlier this year, bringing his number of wives to three. Another wife died in 2000. He divorced a fifth in 1998.

Faithfulness Goes Up In South Africa

A recent survey has found that South Africans think their faithfulness could protect them against HIV, reports The Independent Online. “The survey showed that faithfulness had gone up as a way to prevent HIV,” said Dr Saul Johnson, managing director for Health and Development Africa, at a media briefing in Johannesburg on Monday.
